Heir of Ophelia

The contemporary take on Edouard Manet’s “Olympia,” better known as Ophelia. Always taken from the male gaze, the female reclining nude figure became a staple of institutional fine art. Sewing becomes the primary focus in the work as the technique creates comforting patchwork details that create an entirely feminine piece.
