Is This Yours?

(3 of 3 of series: Women in the Workplace)

The third in a series of three, the most planned and complete pillar represents using femininity wholeheartedly in my work to prove myself as a 3D artist. The dialogue of the piece is the most open as the question in the title poses no stereotypes or sexist comments as the piece and myself are accepted for their true identity. The industrialized columns are reclaimed through roses as transformative femininity. The traditionally masculine materials equalize within the piece to validate female 3D artists, without compromising any stereotypical feminine qualities, to explore gender and identity.

Women in the Workplace Series

A series of three structures that use imagery of roses as femininity within the sculptures. To reclaim the industrial columns created from traditional methods of making sculpture. Titled with varying degrees of personally asked sexist questions as the titles, the series shows my own growth to prove myself as a female 3D artist without compromising any stereotypical feminine qualities.
